Skate On & Elvis The Pride Of Britain

By |2018-02-15T08:38:15+00:00January 29th, 2018|Categories: News|Tags: , , , |

King Elvis swept the board at the Greyhound of the Year awards with Rab and Liz McNair regretting not bringing a low-loader into Central London to take away all the trophies. Elvis became the first British bred to land the award since Jimmy Lollie in 2010 and the first home born greyhound to take the standard distance award since the great Westmead Hawk. The British bred award was already a formality, and in a very tough year where the opposition included Roxholme Nidge and Droopys Expert, the young black also collected the ‘Best Newcomer’ gong. His mum Skate On had [...]

Leading the way was triple Category One Winner King Elvis, who won the 71st Produce Stakes at Swindon, The Breeders Stakes at Nottingham and the Servoca Nursing and Care British Bred Derby at Towcester. He also landed the Category Two Gentleman George Curtis Trafalgar Cup at Monmore. Litter [...]

Brits Into Olympic Final

By |2017-12-28T12:34:10+00:00December 22nd, 2017|Categories: News|Tags: , , , |

It was a successful night for British Breeding as no fewer than four home bred dogs made it into the Category 1 Coral Olympic final at Hove! In the opening Semi Final, King Turbo (Leamaneigh Turbo - Wee Tiget Tots) paced up to the corner on the inside of Bubbly Bluebird before forcing his way through on the rails. Leading out the 2nd turn he maintained a strong gallop before being caught on the run in by the powerful Bruisers Bullet to claim his spot in the Final. The second Semi Final saw King Kid (Droopys Scolari [...]

Queen Anna Takes The Crown

By |2018-02-15T08:26:25+00:00December 19th, 2017|Categories: News|Tags: , |

Queen Anna boosted the chances of litter brother King Elvis landing the Greyhound of the Year title with an impressive victory in Stadium Bookmakers National Sprint Final at Nottingham. It was terrific one-two for British breeding with Trapstyle Jet coming home in second place. Queen Anna’s last-to-first 17.83 victory not only gave her a chance to take the Sprinter of the Year award – an honour that the McNair’s feel was unfairly denied her dam Sake On – it also increases the chances of King Elvis securing the top award.

King Elvis Reigns As Servoca British Bred Derby Champion

By |2018-02-15T08:33:12+00:00December 4th, 2017|Categories: News|

KING ELVIS emerged as a possible key player for the GBGB Awards in early 2018 as the Liz McNair-trained home-bred landed his fourth major title of the year in Wednesday’s Servoca British Bred Derby final at Towcester on Wednesday. Already winner of the Produce Stakes (Swindon), Trafalgar Cup (Monmore) and Henlow Derby in 2017, the October 15 son of Tullymurry Act and Skate On made all in the £7,500 decider to add to his successes and give the McNairs a first and third in the decider. Lowgate Belatrix, trained and bred by last year’s winning handler Jim Hayton, finished well [...]
