We saw four top sprint contests in the opening round of the BGBF Sprint at Harlow on Wednesday where it was local runner, Moors Dingo, who set the standard.
The opener went the way of the Luke Morrison trained, Signet Hawk. The son of Ballymac Vic and Dorotas Irena was soon in control as he paced up well to the bend. Leading comfortably throughout he crossed the line three and a quarter lengths in front of Trouble Maker and Rogue Gangster in 14.84. The second heat saw Moors Dingo record the fastest time of the opening heats as he led home Queen Izzy and Decoy Louis. Trained by Robert Pendall, he showed great early pace to lead into the opening turn, with slight bunching behind he was in full control, coming home two and three quarters to the good in a time of 14.70.

The third heat was a slightly closer affair as Mr Debonaire saw off Colski Iris by three quarters of a length with Sneezys Raven grabbing the third qualifying spot. The Dave Lee trained tracker scored at big odds as he led out the second turn to reel in the early leader Iris. Powering his way to the line he grabbed the victory in the final strides. The final heat was went the way of Decoy Junior for train Kevin Cobbold. In a similarly run race to the third heat, Decoy Junior had to come from behind to land the victory from early leader Hey Boo with Burnfoot Adageo in third spot. Winning time here was 14.83
