There was a busy crowd at Swindon to witness a remarkable first-four-home from trainer and owner duo, Liz McNair and the KSS Syndicate, as King Sheeran landed the 73rd running of the British Bred Produce Stakes.

The odds-on King Sheeran broke smartly and led into the opening turns, the son of Eden The Kid and Skate On was soon pursued by kennel mate Queen Cher with King Cash in close touch laying in third. As Sheeran pulled away along the far side it was Cash who move past Cher and started to make impressive gains in to the lead, turning for home Cash rallied gallantly but couldn’t reel in the early leader Sheeran as he crossed the line three quarters of a length in front in 28.41. In behind King Dylan had made up ground to snatch third spot from Queen Cher to record a famous 1-2-3-4 for the McNair and KSS Team. Saving Face and Waki Racer finished 5th and 6th respectively and have been a credit to connections reaching the Category 1 Final.

McNair said: “That felt brilliant, in fact they were all brilliant and I was so proud for Brendan [Keogh] and Simon [Senyk, the leaders of the KSS Syndicate].  Moments like this is what we do it all for but I hope it also inspires others to take up the breeding challenge. It needs effort but the satisfaction and, tonight the reward, makes it worth it.”
