Signature Dancer, a faller in the voided Semi Final only 7 days earlier, landed the inaugural BGBF Scurry Final for owners Craig Chesson and Carl Plummer with a superb performance to prevail on the big occasion at Henlow.

Commanche Storm produced another fast start but Signature Dancer matched him stride for stride to the bend this week as both moved into a length advantage of the pack behind. Westcot Norman started making efforts to pull alongside out the second turn but along the far side it was Commanche Storm who maintained a slight advantage. Approaching the third bend Signature Dancer started making in roads and took up the running round the final two turns before starting to pull away. Despite the best efforts Westcot Norman to close him down on the run in, Signature Dancer held on to win by a length and a half in 26.43.

For trainer Michelle Brown, it is a flying start to her solo career as a trainer having only taken over the licence from her mother, Hazel Kemp, a few months ago. It’s also a double delight for joint owner Craig Chesson who is also the successful breeder of this wonderful racer. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Once again, the BGBF would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported the competition and we look forward to seeing you at the BGBF St Leger in the coming weeks!
